Audio Video Interleaved (AVI) software developed by Microsoft that reproduces interleaving video of in time real movement and sequences of audio in Windows, without specialized equipment, to near 15 pictures per second in a small window. With the acceleration equipment sequences of video AVI to 30 pictures per second can be executed. Like QuickTime de Apple, AVI offers the following characteristics: Reproduction from hard disk or D-ROM. Reproduction in computers with limited memory; the data are sent from the hard disk or reproductive of D-ROM without using great amounts of memory. Fast load and reproduction, since only few pictures of video and a portion of audio are accesadas at the same time.

Motion-JPEG is an extended version of the algorithm JPEG that compresses images. Basically it consists of treating to the video like a sequence of independent static images to which the process of compression of algorithm JPEG for each image of the video sequence is applied time and time again. Four ways of operation for the JPEG exist: sequential, progressive, without lost, and hierarchic. Normally the sequential way is used. The disadvantage of this system is that it is not possible to be considered as a video standard then not even includes the signal of audio. Another problem is that the compression index is not very great. JPEG uses a technique of space compression, intrapictures or DCT. System JPEG only uses the space compression when being designed to compress individual images. Motion-JPEG is the method chosen for the applications where informacióin is sent same to all the users, broadcast.
