P2P Technology

The P2P technology, consists of a method network based on TCP / IP protocol and its function is to exchange files of any kind, such as audio, video, text or software between network users. Its literal definition is on an equal footing, Peer to Peer. This system allows optimize banda wide, so draws more performance connections.

P2P is not dependent on a server or a user, but establishing a connection between nodes, and how many more will join its network of more resources available to the network itself, since they are shared between them. Therefore, it is said to be a decentralized system, that none of the nodes is essential to establish or maintain the connection. There are exceptions in this respect as Napster, eDonkey 2000 or Bit Torrent.

The P2P networks can be used to exchange files of all kinds. This advantage, in turn poses a disadvantage because it can also serve to spread viruses or to appropriate audio files, music or others who are protected by copyright. Therefore, at this point affects matter of illegality which is punishable in many countries. The recording industry and distributors believe that the freedom that gives users, threatens their rights and interests.
